Maybe I'm Bilingual...?

Hi!

Why does this post have Spanish?

Have Daniel's blogs got muddled up, or just him?

Trust me, it's gonna make more sense in about 5.5 seconds.

It's because someone said something rather funny to me the other week.

I was at work, and making conversation with this lady. Then she said to me,

"You look bilingual."

I've been called a lot of things, but not bilingual!

She continues,

"I teach languages"

And then she says,

"And you sound bilingual too."

I never heard that one before either!

I said "I wish I was."

So now, I'm trying to work out what my second language is. Duolingo doesn't seem to have the Unsure Language option.

Because maybe, just maybe, I AM bilingual. I just don't know what my second language is yet...😂

If you know a way to discover a language you don't know that you already know, I'd love to know!

But this lady had me thinking.

Has someone ever said something to you, that has expanded the vision you have of yourself?

I remember when I was in high school. I was sitting in our school hall, listening to an information session about completing some senior school subjects a year early. This can help students get better marks and help with university admission down the track. I didn't think anything of it at the time. But my science teacher, Mrs. Thompson, came up to me after. She said (and thought) I should do it, and that I COULD do it.

Someone I listen to on a daily basis is motivational speaker Les Brown (chuck his name in Youtube!). And the thing he says over and over again is this:

"You can't see the picture when you're in the frame."

If we wanna become someone else or go somewhere else, we first have to know that there's more out there! That's where other people can come in :)

Has someone said anything about you, to you, that you feel "hmmm I never thought of about that?" but EXCITES you?

Or, what do you think is the fewest amount of words of another language I need to know to at least feeeeel bilingual?
