A $395 post

Howdy!

Welcome back.

Last month, I was fortunate enough to go to the Fortuna One event.

It was a two-day conference with 12 speakers discussing mindset, investing and AI.

It was a $395 ticket.

This post, I want to share with you the main take aways from the Fortuna One event in Sydney.

So this is like a $395 post - for free!

Plus, you don't have to sit through the handful of speakers who spent 45 of their 60 mins trying to convince you that you needed their $3,000 coaching program 😂

What I learnt from Tony Robbins:

Tony Robbins runs transformational events over days - but this time, he only had 3 hours. He made it feel like 1 hour - he brought the vibes!

So what did he teach?

State is important!

Melbourne in the Australian state of Victoria is very different from Melbourne in the US state of Florida!

But in all seriousness, Tony taught us that the state we are in (i.e. our mood and energy) dictates our feeling. And our feeling in turn dictates what actions we are to take. And ultimately, our actions determine our lives.

We can actually choose to positive, before we do, in order to feel it! I'm not sure if that last sentence is grammatically correct. But does it make sense? Tricking ourselves into a feeling how we want to feel instead of resigning ourselves to feeling we don't want to feel.

What I learnt from Steven Bartlett:

You might not recognise the name, but you may recognise the face. Steven is the host of the Diary of a CEO podcast series.

He was being interviewed by the host of Fortuna One Paul Siderovski. One answer made the audience laugh.

Steven said that he and his fiancé are trying to have a baby.

"We're trying.....it looks easy in the movies!"

But Steven said something worth underlining.

He said it's important that we know when to quit something. Never thought a guy who's companies are worth in the hundreds of millions would say that! He said he quit uni after just one lecture. What are we continuing even though it's not helping us?

He also said that he disagrees with the adage of finding your passion. Steven said we'll all have multiple passions, not just the one thing.

What do you think?

Suddenly I'm feeling a little bit better about myself quitting med school now.

What I learnt from Gary Brecka:

I had never heard of Gary until this event.

But when he said that his team are about to broadcast a documentary of them curing his mum's Alzheimer's, my ears pricked up!

Gary is a longevity expert and used to work in the American life insurance industry.

He said that illnesses are not inherited - deficiencies in biochemical pathways that break down nutrients are.

Now I'm thinking gee maybe I should've continued med school to understand what he's talking about.

But Gary explained in it in very easy terms.

So in short, you can do a genetic test to see what nutrients that may benefit your diet and in turn, your health.

Not to sure where coffee fits in, but I'm not gonna investigate too much.

I was surprised with some of the stuff he was teaching, but I must say, impressed. New ideas are meant to stun you at first, right?

What I learnt from Joseph McClendon III:

Joseph announced to the audience that he was about to turn 73 soon....but he looks about 43. I guess sitting up in tier 3 really does have it's advantages.

Joseph went from homeless, to a multi-millionaire as a neuro-psychologist and performance specialist.

He taught us that we all have what he calls the 'Toxic Ten'. These are habits or beliefs that sabotage our own success and happiness. For example, mine would be hesitation and imposter syndrome (just to name a couple 😂).

I'd ask you what your's might be, but I didn't get to right all 10 down.

But similar to Tony Robbins, Joseph emphasised the importance of the energy we bring to each moment, and the attitude and thoughts we chose to entertain.

Two full days inside Afterpay Arena.....where's the coffee?

Back soon!
